1. WARNING<br />

1.1 Bird hazard.<br />

2.1 Arriving Aircraft<br />

2.1.1 If approach clearance already received:<br />

a. Set transponder to Code 7600;<br />

b. Keep Transmitting (“Blind<br />

Transmission”) on tower frequency -<br />

132.1 MHz, or on 121.5 MHz;<br />

c. If able, contact tower by Telephone<br />

(+972-3-9758111) and inform tower<br />

about you intentions:<br />

d. Proceed and complete the approach<br />

accordingly;<br />

e. Land after receiving green light from<br />

tower;<br />

f. In case of red light received from tower,<br />

or flashing RWY edge lights, perform<br />

a missed approach procedure and join<br />

the same approach again.<br />

2.1.2 If approach clearance was not received:<br />

a. Set transponder to Code 7600;<br />

b. Keep Transmitting (“Blind<br />

Transmission”) on the appropriate<br />

Frequency or on 121.5 MHz;<br />

c. If able, contact tower by Telephone<br />

(+972-3-9758111) and inform tower<br />

about you intentions;<br />

d. Proceed to BGN VOR, to reach the<br />

VOR at 6000ft;<br />

e. During day time, RWY 26 is for<br />

landing. Perform and complete one<br />

full holding pattern, then a full ILS<br />

approach or a VOR/DME approach<br />

as a second priority, unless the<br />

wind component dictates landing on<br />

RWY 08, in that case follow the night<br />

time procedure.<br />

f. During night time, RWY 08 is for<br />

landing. Perform and complete one<br />

full holding pattern, then a full ILS<br />

approach, or a VOR-Y approach as<br />

a second priority, unless the wind<br />

component dictates landing on<br />

RWY 26, in that case follow the day<br />

time procedure;<br />

g. Land after receiving green light from<br />

the tower’<br />

h. In case of red light received from the<br />

tower, or flashing RWY edge lights,<br />

perform a missed approach procedure<br />

and join the same approach again.<br />

2.2 Departing Aircraft<br />

2.2.1 If returning to land, perform the procedures<br />

listed for arriving aircraft.<br />

2.2.2 If not returning to land:<br />

a. Follow the communication failure<br />

instructions specifi ed in each chart.<br />

b. Keep Transmitting (“Blind<br />

Transmission”) on the appropriate<br />

frequency or on 121.5 MHz.<br />

c. If able, contact Ben-Gurion tower by<br />

telephone (+972-3-9758111) and<br />

inform tower about your intentions.<br />

3. ALTIMETER SETTING<br />

3.1 Within the Tel Aviv FIR, the altimeter<br />

setting procedures are as follows:<br />

3.1.1 Standard ICAO procedures over water.<br />

3.1.2 In terms of altitude according to regional<br />

QNH over land.<br />

a) Arriving traffi c change from fl ight level<br />

to altitude when leaving FL110 on<br />

descent, or when crossing coastline<br />

and fl ying over the land area,<br />

whichever earliest.<br />

b) Departing traffi c shall change from<br />

altitude to fl ight level when leaving<br />

10000ft, or when crossing coastline<br />

and fl ying over water, whichever latest.<br />

4. TAXI<br />

When towed from Terminal 1 to Terminal<br />

3 contact GND East. When towed from<br />

Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 contact GND<br />

West. In cases when GND East and West<br />

are combined the frequency to be used<br />

shall be 129.2.<br />

5. LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURE<br />

5.1 General<br />

5.1.1 When reduced visibility prevents visual<br />

monitoring of movement area by ATC,<br />

Low Visibility Procedure (LVP) will be<br />

implemented by TWR and transmitted by<br />

ATIS;<br />

5.1.2 RWY 08 is the preferred RWY for landings<br />

and takeoffs. Second option, RWY 26 will<br />

be used for landings and takeoffs;<br />

5.1.3 Follow-me service provided to and from<br />

stands, when such service cannot be<br />

provided by ATC. This service however will<br />

not be provided when visibility is less than<br />

100m;<br />
