Design Guidelines: Streetscapes
Good Work and Things to Avoid
Reinforcing historic patterns of design, materials, and textures recalls traditional values
and craftsmanship and makes the district a much more attractive place for people to
live, work, and visit.
The Same Streetscape
Stripped of Its Character
roofline—remain similar, while the smaller parts—such as trim details—will show more
variety. Radical departures from existing patterns tend to disrupt the quality of the whole
streetscape.
