J O S E P H ’ S H O S P I T A L H E A R T I N S T I T U T E Working with an experienced staff of nurses and technicians, cardiologists at St. Joseph's Hospital Heart Institute have performed more than 50,000 cardiac catheterizations over the last 25 years. With four state-of-the-art laboratories and a team available around the clock, St. Joseph’s is able to offer the community advanced technology to diagnose and treat problems of the coronary arteries and heart valves. More than 98% of St. Joseph’s cardiac catheterization patients rate their experiences as "extremely good" or "excellent." Some of the services offered through St. Joseph's Hospital Heart Institute include: • Diagnostic left and right heart catheterization • Percutaneous Coronary Intervention • Stent implants – both bare metal and drug-eluting • Valvuloplasty St. Joseph's Offers the Full Range of Coronary Revascularization Options Bare metal stents have a restenosis rate of approximately 25%. Drug-eluting stents have a restenosis rate of less than 10%. When drug-eluting stents received FDA approval in 2003, St. Joseph's Cardiac Catheterization Lab adopted the latest technology. The percentage of drug-eluting stents used at St. Joseph's Hospital Heart Institute (as a percentage of total stents used) has increased over time to ensure the best outcomes for patients. 8

Availability and commitment to meeting the needs of patients has led to a significant reduction in the time from a patient's presentation to St. Joseph’s Emergency Center to reperfusion.
