WINE COUNTRY THIS WEEK
More Than 25 Russian River Valley Wineries
to Pour Single Vineyard Wines in San Francisco
The Russian River Valley Winegrowers
Association and Uncorked Events are
bringing wine country to the city on
Thursday, July 19 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. More
than 25 winemakers and winegrowers will
be pouring small-lot, single-vineyard wines
at San Francisco-hotspot Sloane Square(d),
alongside other Russian River Valley wines
and accompanied by small bites of food from
local producers and restaurants.
The grapes that go into single vineyard
wines are all specially selected to showcase
the character of one particular vineyard,
making this one-of-a-kind tasting a rare
chance to try some of the most distinctive
wines being made in the Russian River Valley.
Winemakers and growers will be there to
pour and answer questions, and DJ Sol will
be spinning grooves all night.
Unique silent auction items will also be
on display to benefit the Russian River Valley
Winegrowers and their work to preserve the
region’s agriculture legacy through marketing
and education.
Sloane Square(d) is located at 1525
Mission Street, San Francisco. Early bird
admission is $40 per person. Limited VIP
passes are also available at an early bird rate
of $55 and allow early entry at 6 p.m. and
access to a special library or reserve wine
from each winery. Must be 21 or older to
attend. For more information or to purchase
tickets, visit singlevineyard.eventbrite.com.
The West of West Wine Festival, August 3-5
association of wineries and growers on Sonoma’s coastline, the second-annual WOW
Festival will be held August 3-5, 2012 just one hour north of San Francisco in the
coastal hamlet of Occidental. Tickets range $125-$200, $450 for all access weekend
pass. For tickets or more information, go to www.westsonomacoast.com.
The West Sonoma Coast Vintners is dedicated to preserving and protecting the
history, landscape and culture of the West Sonoma Coast, and to promoting its wines to
