Raising Funds <strong>to</strong> Strengthen Community<br />

The <strong>Jewish</strong> Federation is a catalyst for expanding and enriching <strong>Jewish</strong><br />

life in the Greater Seattle area. The annual Community Campaign raises<br />

funds <strong>to</strong> serve four Impact Are<strong>as</strong>:<br />

1) Helping Our Local Community in Need<br />

2) Strengthening Global Jewry<br />

3) Experiencing Judaism: Birth <strong>to</strong> Grade 12, and<br />

4) Building <strong>Jewish</strong> Community: Post Grade 12.<br />

For fiscal year 2014, the <strong>Jewish</strong> Federation awarded more than $2.4<br />

million in Community Campaign grants <strong>to</strong> 48 programs and projects<br />

locally, in Israel and overse<strong>as</strong>.<br />

Seattle <strong>Jewish</strong> Community Endowment Fund<br />

The endowment is an integral part of the <strong>Jewish</strong> Federation. The fund<br />

helps individuals and families fulfill their long-term <strong>Jewish</strong> philanthropy<br />

objectives and is a major resource for Federation grant-making.<br />

Government Affairs and Advocacy<br />

The <strong>Jewish</strong> Federation is the <strong>Jewish</strong> community’s voice in Olympia<br />

on critical issues involving children, youth and families; adults;<br />

seniors; and human and civil rights. The W<strong>as</strong>hing<strong>to</strong>n State <strong>Jewish</strong><br />

Action Center educates the community about important public policy<br />

issues and encourages citizens <strong>to</strong> contact their elected representatives<br />

about legislation of interest <strong>to</strong> the <strong>Jewish</strong> community. Sign up at<br />

Israel<br />

The <strong>Jewish</strong> Federation h<strong>as</strong> a strong focus on Israel. Their support for Israel<br />

includes advocacy, sponsoring local cultural events, scholarships that fund<br />

Israel experiences for young people, and the Partnership2Gether program<br />

supporting and fostering local connections <strong>to</strong> their partner communities<br />

of Kiryat Malachi and Hof Ashkelon.<br />

The <strong>Jewish</strong> Federation provides involvement opportunities for professionals<br />
