Ms. Keesling is an exceptional nurse and
developing leader at LewisGale Hospital Pulaski,
possessing the respect of her co-workers, the
physician staff, and each patient she touches.
Her many accomplishments include developing
a palliative care program, constructing a nurse
navigator program, and serving as co-chair of the
Nursing Professional Development Council. She is
a person of action and is always willing to assist,
guide, and instruct – regardless of the task.

Tammy Kemp, DNP, RN, NEA-BC
Nursing Support Services, Informatics and
Practice, Carilion Clinic
Dr. Kemp is an integral part of the leadership
team. She serves as an international informatics
and operational speaker, consultant as well as nurse
researcher. Her ability to integrate clinical knowledge
and operational experience to create and enhance
workflows for clinicians and operational leadership
has elevated nursing practice, and her quest for quality
of care and improved nursing practice has resulted
in multiple system wide improvements. Additionally,
Dr. Kemp has invented and developed a nationally
competitive acuity product that is presently patent
pending.
Nurse Educator
Darlene Salvani, BSN, RN, BMTCN
Clinical Nurse, Virginia Commonwealth
University Medical Center
Ms. Salvani’s expertise is an important asset on
the Bone Marrow Transplant unit. She is a dedicated
member of the Shared Governance committee that
works on innovative ideas to improve the quality of
care delivered on her unit, as well as the diabetic
counsel team that uses research to find the best
treatment and management for diabetic conditions.
She has also received her Bone Marrow Transplant
certification. All of these things give Darlene a
substantial knowledge base to help others navigate
complicated or stressful situations and ultimately
make her a great leader.
Linda Bullock, PhD, RN, FAAN
Jeanette Lancaster Alumni
Professor of Nursing,
Associate Dean for Research, and Director,
PhD program at the University of Virginia
Dr. Bullock is a distinguished nurse researcher
who has positively affected public health nursing
practice through her research to improve the lives
of women and children, particularly low-income
rural women. Throughout her career, Dr. Bullock’s
work has been in collaboration with state health
departments to address the health needs of a very
vulnerable population and to train those that serve
these women and children. Dr. Bullock’s success as
a research has enhanced the image of professional
nursing.
Karen Rose, PhD, MS, RN, RAAN
Assistant Dean, Research and Innovations and
Associate Professor, University of Virginia
School of Nursing
As program director, Dr. Rose spearheaded
her school’s efforts to transform their traditional
program and to expand the enrollment capacity
of their RN to BSN program. During that time,
she used innovative approaches to curriculum
redesign and to faculty development in order to
continue to enhance faculty’s professional roles.
Her passion for providing students with unique
opportunities to enhance their educational
experiences while providing service to patients and
their families across our health system, illustrates
her commitment to maintaining respect for human
dignity and the uniqueness of all persons

This position will provide professional leadership to the District. Plans,
directs, organizes, manages and evaluates nursing, clinical, and
occupational health related programs and activities for the District’s
seven local health departments. Position ensures adherence to District,

Nursing Instructor – Southside Regional
Medical Center School of Nursing
Southside Regional Medical Center (located in historic Petersburg,
VA, which is 30 minutes South of Richmond, VA) has a
full time Nursing Instructor position available with our School
of Nursing. This position will provide clinical, classroom and
