2.2 SETTING AND AUXILIARY MATERIALS<br />

A. Water-Cleanable Epoxy Adhesive: ANSI A118.3.<br />

B. Sealant: Clear silicone sealant.<br />

C. Dry-Set Grout (Unsanded): ANSI A118.6, for joints 1/8 inch and narrower.<br />

D. Latex-Portland Cement Grout: ANSI A118.6.<br />

.1 Use unsanded grout for joints 1/8 inch and narrower.<br />

.2 Use sanded grout for joints 1/8 inch and wider.<br />

E. Sealer: Type as recommended by stone manufacturer for application.<br />

2.3 STONE FABRICATION - GENERAL<br />

A. Cut stone to produce pieces of thickness, size, and shape indicated.<br />

.1 Comply with recommendations of Indiana Limestone Institute of America's "Indiana Limestone<br />

Handbook," as applicable.<br />

.2 Provide curved units, radiused corners and molded work as indicated.<br />

.3 Cut stone to produce uniform joints at locations indicated.<br />

.4 Produce moldings with machines; do not sculpt moldings.<br />

.5 Miter moldings at corners, unless otherwise indicated, with edges of miters slightly eased at<br />

outside corners. Reinforce and anchor corners.<br />

B. Pattern Arrangement: Fabricate and arrange items with veining and other natural markings acceptable<br />

to Architect.<br />

2.4 STONE COUNTERTOP FABRICATION<br />

A. Fabricate stone countertops to comply with recommendations of Indiana Limestone Institute of<br />

America's "Indiana Limestone Handbook," or to National Building Granite Quarries Association's<br />

document <strong>Specification</strong>s for Architectural Granite, or to Marble Institute of America's document Dimensional<br />

Stone-<strong>Design</strong> Manual IV, as applicable.<br />

.1 Thickness: Minimum 1-1/4 inches.<br />

.2 Edge Detail: To be selected by Architect.<br />

B. Splashes: Minimum 1 inch nominal thickness backsplashes and end splashes.<br />

C. Seams: Fabricate countertops in largest practical sizes, and in sections for joining in field, with sealant-filled<br />

seams 1/16 inch width.<br />

D. Provide cut-outs for fixtures.<br />

2.5 RECONSTITUTED STONE COUNTERTOP FABRICATION<br />

A. Fabricate countertops in largest sizes practical, in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.<br />

B. Provide reinforcement, built-in anchors and plates for attachment of counter supports to other work.<br />

Use galvanized steel for concealed items; stainless steel for exposed items, with finish as selected<br />

by Architect.<br />

C. Edge Detail: To be selected by Architect.<br />

D. Provide cut-outs for fixtures.<br />
