Travel further afield to the awe-inspiring Boeng Mealea, a predecessor of Angkor Wat and definitely off the tourist track. At the atmospheric Ta Prohm, step back in time to imagine how Henri Mouhot, the French explorer, might have felt when he ‘rediscovered’ Angkor and all its splendour in the mid-nineteenth century.
