Day 1: Tour Pakse town and the forested<br />

Day 1: Tour Pakse and head to the lush<br />

Day 2: Visit the pre-Angkorian Wat<br />

Phou temple, and then set out on an<br />

elephant ride for views over the stunning<br />

countryside nearby. Travel to Khong Island<br />

houses and quaint fishing villages.<br />

Day 3: Explore the 4,000 Islands by local<br />

boat and visit tumultuous Khone Phapheng<br />

falls, before returning to Pakse.<br />

Day 4: Fly to Vientiane for a visit to<br />

some of the main monuments, including<br />

Wat Sisaket.<br />

Day 5: Fly to beautiful Luang Prabang and<br />

explore monasteries and temples, before a<br />

fun cooking class.<br />

Day 6: Marvel at the former Royal Palace,<br />

Day 1: Transfer to Dong Daeng Island and<br />

La Folie Lodge, and then travel a short<br />

distance to Champasak town, home to Wat<br />

Phou. Soak up the atmosphere with your<br />

guide, then travel back to your riverside<br />

lodge for a cool drink to admire the sunset<br />

from your bungalow or poolside restaurant.<br />

Day 2: Transfer back to the mainland<br />

and drive south down to the famous 4000<br />

Islands. Embark on a full day’s tour taking<br />

in the best of what the 4000 islands region<br />

has to offer. Board a local boat and travel<br />

to Khone Island to see Li Phi falls and the<br />

remains of the sole railway. Take some<br />

time here to also see some of the various<br />

fishing techniques used by the locals,<br />

before visiting Ban Done Date village<br />
