Ladle Application<br />
ISOMAG 70 XCO, unlike other<br />
insulating materials, will not<br />
crush or powder under severe<br />
compressive stress during ladle<br />
cycling. The excellent mechanical<br />
properties of ISOMAG 70 XCO<br />
will also improve the ladle’s<br />
permanent lining performance<br />
without compromising the safety.<br />
ISOMAG 70 XCO provides better<br />
uniform casting temperature<br />
which will improve the caster’s<br />
productivity.<br />
The excellent mechanical and thermal<br />
properties of ISOMAG 70 XCO at<br />
elevated temperatures, combined<br />
with a good refractory practice, offers<br />
substantial improvements of the<br />
refractory performance.<br />
Torpedo Car Application<br />
The use of ISOMAG 70 XCO in torpedo cars will improve<br />
the hot metal temperature during the residence time, ranging<br />
from 15–20°C and will significantly reduce skull formation.<br />
ISOMAG’s excellent mechanical properties will contribute<br />
to maintain a tight<br />
refractory lining.<br />
Tundish Application<br />
In tundish applications, the excellent insulating properties<br />
of ISOMAG 70 XCO will improve the stability of the liquid<br />
steel temperature during the casting process, will reduce<br />
shell temperature by up to 50°C and<br />
drastically improve the operator’s<br />
comfort.<br />
