Workplace, Health, Safety <strong>and</strong> Compensation Commission<br />

The Workplace, Health, Safety <strong>and</strong> Compensation Commission (the Commission) is considered to be a form <strong>of</strong> trust. For the<br />

most recent fiscal year ended 31 December 2009, the Commission reported a net fund deficiency <strong>of</strong> $105.9 million<br />

(31 December 2008 - net fund deficiency <strong>of</strong> $187.9 million) <strong>and</strong> an accumulated operating deficit <strong>of</strong> $104.7 million (31<br />

December 2008 - $96.5 million). Under legislation, no liability on behalf <strong>of</strong> the Province has been established.
