Licensing/Permit Committee<br />

Minutes <strong>of</strong> Meeting Held July 9, <strong>2012</strong><br />

A meeting <strong>of</strong> the Licensing/Permit Committee was held on June 25, <strong>2012</strong>, in Room 202 <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Kenosha</strong> Municipal<br />

Building.<br />

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Vice-Chair Juliana.<br />

At roll call, the following members were present: Alderpersons Kennedy, Wilson and Schwartz. Alderperson<br />

Downing was excused. Assistant <strong>City</strong> Attorney Jonathan Mulligan was present.<br />

It was moved by Alderperson Wilson, seconded by Alderperson Kennedy to approve the minutes <strong>of</strong> the<br />

regular meeting held June 25th, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

NOTE: All licenses and permits are subject to withholding <strong>of</strong> issuance by the <strong>City</strong> Clerk as specified in Section<br />

1.045 <strong>of</strong> the Code <strong>of</strong> General Ordinances.<br />

1. Applications for new Operator's (Bartender) licenses, with a recommendation from the <strong>City</strong> Attorney to<br />

grant, subject to:<br />

- 20 demerit points:<br />

a. Zachary McDermott – present and spoke<br />

b. Kayla Threlkeld<br />

c. Andrew Kopania<br />

d. Danielle Audi – present and spoke<br />

It was moved by Alderperson Kennedy, seconded by Alderperson Schwartz, to concur with the<br />

recommendation <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> Attorney. Motion carried unanimously.<br />

2. Applications for new Operator's (Bartender) licenses, with a recommendation from the <strong>City</strong> Attorney to<br />

deny, based on:<br />

- material police record:<br />

a. Rachel Rorie (deferred from the meeting on June 25, <strong>2012</strong>) – present and spoke<br />

b. Brigett Hammond (deferred from the meeting on June 25, <strong>2012</strong>)<br />

c. Michael Souza – present and spoke<br />

It was moved by Alderperson Kennedy, seconded by Alderperson Schwartz to separate a, b, and c.<br />

Motion carried unanimously. It was moved by Alderperson Kennedy to approve a, subject to 85<br />

points. Motion carried unanimously. It was moved by Alderperson Kennedy, seconded by<br />

Alderperson Wilson to deny b and c. Motion carried unanimously.<br />

3. Application <strong>of</strong> Martin Stella, for renewal <strong>of</strong> an Operator's (Bartender) licenses, with a recommendation<br />

from the <strong>City</strong> Attorney to grant, subject to 20 demerit points.<br />

It was moved by Alderperson Kennedy, seconded by Alderperson Wilson to concur with the<br />

recommendation <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> Attorney. Motion carried unanimously.<br />

4. Renewal applications for Operator's (Bartender) licenses, with a recommendation from the <strong>City</strong> Attorney<br />

to defer, or grant subject to non-renewal revocation due to false applications:<br />

a. Joan Marie Eckert<br />

b. Paul Slagoski<br />

c. Samir Patel<br />

It was moved by Alderperson Kennedy, seconded by Alderperson Schwartz to grant, subject to nonrenewal<br />

revocation. Motion carried unanimously.
