Article II<br />

OBJECT<br />

The object of <strong>Alzafar</strong> <strong>Shrine</strong>rs shall be to exemplify, propagate,<br />

and disseminate <strong>Shrine</strong>dom in all its attributes throughout its jurisdiction<br />

and to instill the tenets thereof in the hearts of mankind.<br />

Section 1. Petitions<br />

Article III<br />

Membership<br />

Members shall be elected upon petition submitted upon the <strong>for</strong>m<br />

and in the manner prescribed by the Imperial Council.<br />

Section 2. Prerequisite <strong>for</strong> Membership<br />

The <strong>Temple</strong> may not accept a petition <strong>for</strong> a candidate nor retain<br />

anyone as a member unless he is in good standing as a Master Mason<br />

of a lodge recognized by or in amity with the Conference of Grand<br />

Masters of North America. The <strong>Temple</strong> may not add to or take from<br />

the qualifications <strong>for</strong> membership in the <strong>Temple</strong> as fixed by the Bylaws<br />

of the Imperial Council.<br />

Section 3. Residence<br />

(a) A petitioner must be an actual resident <strong>for</strong> at least 6 months in<br />

the jurisdiction of the <strong>Temple</strong>, provided, however, that the <strong>Temple</strong><br />

may receive and act upon the petition of one whose residence is not<br />

within the jurisdiction of another <strong>Temple</strong>.<br />

(b) Actual residence is defined as the place where the applicant in<br />

good faith makes his home.<br />

(c) Any member of the Armed Forces or of the Diplomatic Service of
