Membership in the <strong>Temple</strong>, a member must meet the prerequisite<br />
requirements as established by the Bylaws of the Imperial Council.<br />

Section 12. Hospital Assessment<br />
(a) The annual levy <strong>for</strong> the Hospitals shall be as determined by the<br />
Imperial Council, payable in advance be<strong>for</strong>e January 1st each year by<br />
all members, including:<br />
(1) Candidates received during the year;<br />
(2) Life members; and<br />
(3) Members reinstated or affiliated.<br />
(b) The hospital levy is a trust fund, and the <strong>Temple</strong> shall place it in<br />
a separate account and remit it to the Imperial Recorder as provided<br />
in the By-Laws of the Imperial Council.<br />
(c) A member may purchase a permanent contributing membership<br />
in the Hospitals upon the payment of a sum determined by the Imperial<br />
Council and shall receive a certificate there<strong>for</strong>e from the Recorder.<br />
The Recorder shall enter the exemption on his records and<br />
thereafter the member shall be exempt from all future hospital levies.<br />
All sums received by the Recorder <strong>for</strong> Permanent Contributing Memberships<br />
and voluntary permanent subscriptions in the Hospitals shall<br />
be <strong>for</strong>thwith remitted by the Recorder to the Imperial Recorder.<br />
Section 13. Dues Cards<br />
Upon the payment of his annual dues, hospital levy, and assessments,<br />
if any, each member shall be issued a <strong>Shrine</strong> Card <strong>for</strong> the current<br />
year in accordance with the provisions of the By-Laws of the Imperial<br />
Council.<br />
Section 14. <strong>Temple</strong> Assessments<br />
(a) No assessment may be levied except in strict accordance with<br />
Imperial Council Bylaws Section 332.7.<br />
(b) Imperial Approval. If the temple is contemplating an assessment<br />
it must first submit the proposal to the Imperial Potentate requesting<br />
