SOURCES & USES<br />

The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) is part <strong>of</strong> the stimulus funding through<br />

the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The EECBG grant is intended to assist cities develop,<br />

promote, implement, and manage energy efficiency and conservation projects and programs. In FY<br />

09/10 the <strong>City</strong> was awarded $730,200 in EECBG funding which was allocated to create energy<br />

efficiency activities. The funds will be applied to three activities, to inlude installation <strong>of</strong> a solar electric<br />

and water heating system at the future Fire Station 65, installation <strong>of</strong> alternative energy solutions for<br />

municipal street, parks and security parking lot lighting, and a residential solar hot water heater rebate<br />

program. This fund may be used for the recording <strong>of</strong> any other grants the <strong>City</strong> may receive that are not<br />

recognized elsewhere.<br />
