Athletes sign letters of intent
Brown receives ROTC scholarship
James Brown has been selected to
receive a full Marine Corp ROTC
scholarship. James is the son of James
and Catherine Brown of St. John’s parish
in Lincoln. While at Pius X James was
awarded varsity letters in football and
track. He was also an Air Force Junior
ROTC at Northeast High School and a volunteer midget
football coach. James plans to attend UNL his freshman
year and then transfer to UCLA where he was assigned to
complete his degree in aerospace engineering.
Ten athletes signed letters of intent this spring to participate in
collegiate sports. Pictured above (left to right) are as follows:

Three are Confirmed
One teacher and two students at Pius X entered the Church
this spring. Pictured (left to right) are Gina Bartels,
math teacher, who was confirmed at the Easter Vigil at
the Cathedral of the Risen Christ, Nick Daily, who was
confirmed at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ on April 29
and Amanda Carrell, who was confirmed at the Easter Vigil
at St. Teresa.
Retired staff reminisce
Last fall Allie Falter (left) signed a letter of intent to play
volleyball for Bradley University and Jamie Schleppenbach
(right) signed to participate on the gymnastics team for the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Brandon Otoski has also signed a letter of
intent to play tennis at the University of
Nebraska-Omaha

The retired staff of Pius X and their spouses met on Jan. 6,
at the Olive Garden restaurant for dinner and reminiscing
of their combined 124 years at Pius X. Pictured from left to
