2011 COIN AND FLAG SERIES 3 MARCH 2011<br />
On 3 March 2011, the <strong>United</strong> <strong>Nations</strong> <strong>Postal</strong><br />
<strong>Administration</strong> (UNPA) will continue its <strong>Coin</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />
<strong>Flag</strong> series by releasing 24 new stamps in the denominations<br />
of 44 cents, F.s. 0,85 <strong>and</strong> € 0,65. Three<br />
mini-sheets of eight stamps each will be released.<br />
This is the fifth year of the stamp series representing<br />
the coins <strong>and</strong> flags of Member States of the <strong>United</strong><br />
<strong>Nations</strong>. The series is expected to run for approximately<br />
eight years until stamps representing all 192<br />
Member States are issued.<br />
STAMP SPECIFICATIONS<br />
The stamps, in denominations of 44 cents,<br />
F.s. 0,85 <strong>and</strong> € 0,65, measure 30 mm horizontally<br />
by 40 mm vertically, perforation to perforation.<br />
Perforation: 13.33 mm. The stamps on the sheet are<br />
pin perforated. There is a unique vertical roulette<br />
perforation that divides the sheet into two panes of<br />
four stamps each. An ultraviolet luminescent security<br />
feature is incorporated on the stamps.<br />
The vertical sheets of eight stamps have eight<br />
marginal inscriptions, two in the left margin, two<br />
in the right margin <strong>and</strong> four in the centre. The<br />
marginal inscription consists of the <strong>United</strong> <strong>Nations</strong><br />
emblem with the text “<strong>United</strong>” above the emblem<br />
<strong>and</strong> “<strong>Nations</strong>” below the emblem. Miniature versions<br />
of the flags on each sheet are also reproduced in the<br />
margin of the sheets. Progressive values are incorporated<br />
in the top <strong>and</strong> bottom margins of all three values<br />
of the stamp sheets. One copyright symbol will appear<br />
in the lower left margin.<br />
THE FORMAT<br />
The three sheets, consisting of two panes of four<br />
stamps, will each accommodate eight different coins<br />
<strong>and</strong> flags. There is a vertical roulette perforation to<br />
divide the sheet into two panes of four stamps each.<br />
CONCEPT<br />
The concept for the <strong>United</strong> <strong>Nations</strong> <strong>Coin</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Flag</strong><br />
series was developed by Jenny Karia (<strong>United</strong> <strong>Nations</strong>).<br />
THE DESIGNER<br />
The designer of the 2011 <strong>Coin</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Flag</strong> series is<br />
Rorie Katz (<strong>United</strong> <strong>Nations</strong>).<br />
PRINTING<br />
The stamps were printed in offset by Cartor<br />
Security Printing (France).<br />

To provide for the complete set of the <strong>Coin</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />
<strong>Flag</strong> series, st<strong>and</strong>ing order customers with former <strong>Flag</strong><br />
series requirements have been converted to receive<br />
the New York, Geneva <strong>and</strong> Vienna <strong>Coin</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Flag</strong><br />
series mint stamps. If these established customers do<br />
not wish to receive or have different requirements for<br />
this series, they are requested to please contact UNPA<br />
to amend their st<strong>and</strong>ing orders. Other customers<br />
who wish to add the <strong>Coin</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Flag</strong> products to their<br />
st<strong>and</strong>ing orders can do so by contacting UNPA toll<br />

The full sheet of eight different stamps will be<br />
considered as a single unit <strong>and</strong> is the only selling unit<br />
for the <strong>Coin</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Flag</strong> series.<br />
Customers with st<strong>and</strong>ing orders for single <strong>and</strong> full<br />
sheet selling units for the <strong>Flag</strong> series will now receive<br />
the larger of these two selling units in their <strong>Coin</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />
<strong>Flag</strong> series st<strong>and</strong>ing order requirements.<br />
All other customers can receive the mint<br />
stamps by completing the order form attached to<br />
this Bulletin.<br />
