Analog Station Module<br />

If you are installing the <strong>ICS</strong> system with an Analog Station<br />

Module, refer to the Analog Station Module Installation<br />

<strong>Guide</strong>.<br />

Auxiliary ringer (customer supplied)<br />

The <strong>Norstar</strong> <strong>ICS</strong> provides a control contact to operate an<br />

auxiliary ringer.<br />

1. Follow the manufacturerÕs installation instructions.<br />

2. Connect the auxiliary ring generator to the 50-pin<br />

distribution block as shown in the wiring charts.<br />

The pins in this chart provide a control contact. They do<br />

not provide ring current or DC voltage. The ringer must<br />

not draw more than 50 mA from a 40 V DC source.<br />

Auxiliary ringer programming<br />

The auxiliary ringer can be activated by setting auxiliary ring<br />

for specific external lines, and auxiliary ring for specific<br />

telephones. Refer to the <strong>Modular</strong> <strong>ICS</strong> <strong>4.0</strong> System Coordinator<br />

<strong>Guide</strong> for programming details.<br />

External music source (customer supplied)<br />

The music source can be any approved low-power device such<br />

as a radio with a high-impedance earphone jack. The<br />

re<strong>com</strong>mended <strong>ICS</strong> input level is 0.25 V rms across an input<br />

impedance of 3300 Ω.<br />

1. Connect the music source output to the 50-pin distribution<br />

block, as shown in the wiring charts.<br />
