HYGIEA IS THE GODDESS OF HEALTH 

The hotel was built in the year 1855. In 2007 

the first floor was refurbished according to 

the Feng Shui principles (superior rooms). In 

the basement areas of the villa is the wine cellar 

with a diverse choice of Slovenian wines 

and local specialities. Hotel Vila Higiea is approximately 

50 meters far from hotel Vita.

The hotel was built in the year 1875. At last 

it was renovated in the year 2006 (exterior 

part), in the first months of 2008 it was completely 

renovated the interior part. Hotel Park 

is 300 meters far from hotel Vita. 

The hotel is suitable for all who wish to spend 

their free time actively. In it is located relaxation 

area, fitness room »Platana«, individual 

sauna and social area.

HEALTH RESORT »ZDRAVILIŠKI DOM« IS THE 

SPRING OF VITALITY 

The Health Resort »Zdraviliški dom« in its 

core is from the year 1624. The central thermal 

spring with healing thermal water is situated 

here. The marble baths are a real speciality, 

not only in Slovenia, but arount the world 

as well. The water circulates and constantly 

conveys to the body fresh oxygen and healing 

effects. Within the hotel are situated several 

smaller halls (Karl May, Hoyos, Napoleon), 

and the large health hall ideal for seminars, 

conferences, performances and weeding receptions.

TERME DOBRNA – 

SOURCE OF THE HEALTH SINCE

Terme Dobrna are health resort, therefore, is the nature with us at first 

place, because we prefer the blessings offered by our Mother Earth. 

For more than two thousand year old Roman principle states say: “Medicus 

curat, natura sanat “which means:” The doctor cures, nature cure.” 

At our spa resort we recognise the main role go the thermal water. After International Classification, 

are among the thermal water, water with a temperature of 30 - 40 o Celsius. 

Thermal effect improves blood circulation and metabolism, and exchange metabolites. Thermal-metabolic 

effects due to improved blood circulation, reduce spasms and further increase 

roughly strength of musculature. Thus we increase the functional capability of the locomotor 

system and reduce patients’ problems, and thereby also reduce the psychological stress. 

Hydrostatic pressure of water on body causes removal of body fluids from the extremities to 

the body and accelerate the urine output. One hour of swimming in thermal water accelerate 

the excretion of water by about 50%, hence the discharge of waste materials. 

The psychological effect of treatment in the thermal water is a combination of rest and relaxation 

effects of hydrotherapy. This results less sympathetic nervous system arousal and thus 

greatly reduce of stress, soo anti-stress activity. 

Peat and fango are representatives of organic and inorganic peloids. Peloids or humic substances 

(humini), are the true wonder of nature and derive from its treasury. They represent the 

largest carbon stocks in nature and originate from multiple sources. In veterinary medicine is 

already used to heal poisoning by heavy metals.

They have a proven anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. Amonium humat isolated from 

peat, compared with aspirin, has 200 percent anti-inflammatory effect. 

Established fibrinolytic effect, has as a resul formation of smooth scars and scars, 

and inhibits the formation of hypertrophic scars, which are after surgeries often 

disturbing. 

Peloids have also demonstrated the effect of estrogen hormone. Therefore, successful therapy 

with peloid is used in hormonal disorders, adhesion, sterility and climacteric problems, and 

even after surgeries on the female reproductive tract. It is also used in diseases of the locomotor 

apparatus (musculoskeletal system) and in skin diseases. 

Natural factor also certainly represent a clean and healthy natural environment, with its 

bioclimatic operation. Dobrna it is far away from industry and traffic flow, surrounded by rich 

forests. After considered by many people, Dobrna has on of the most beautiful parks with rare 

and precious tree species. 

Altitude of 385 meters and lush greenery mitigate the summer sunshine, from low temperatures 

during winter and cold northerly winds protects Dobrna Pag Dolomites, which closes

In Terme Dobrna operates many outpatient department: gynecological, neurological, internal, 

dermatological, neurosurgical, orthopedic, urological and ultrasound, dispensary for women 

(concession) and even osteopathy. 

Terme Dobrna offers the possibility of supply and care at a care department 

24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All patient rooms are equipped with signalisation, and we offer 

24-hour medical care, and home visits by our doctors. We as well offer nursing for people 

needing 24-hour care (during the guardian’s absence). 

We are aware that the quality of life is not only represented by physical health. Balsam for the

THERMAL WATER IN 

TERME DOBRNA 

The ancient Celts and Romans already knew the warm spring water in Dobrna. In the year 1403, 

the water was used the first time for health purposes. Since the year 1542, the thermal water 

in Dobrna is known as an ideal means in treating gynaecological and urological illnesses, rheumatic, 

and illnesses similar to rheumatism, for healing diseases and motor system injuries. 

The thermal water is very curative for patients with peripheral vein illnesses, for patients with 

neurological difficulties, for all with diabetes, heightened blood pressure, and minor heart and 

respiratory illnesses. 

For decades, we have beneficially used it for fortifying the organism and improving the complete 

psychophysical condition of individuals and groups. 

The alkaline thermal water with a temperature at the source of around 35 to 36,5°C, and contains 

adequate amounts of calcium, magnesium, and hydrogen carbonate is the main healing 

factor in the Dobrna spa. 

Due to the calcium ions the water contains, the Dobrna thermal water acts as anti-inflammatory, 

and anti-allergy with all chronic inflammation of the digestion and urinary organs. It as well 

accelerates the purging of water from the body. Indirectly it helps in discharging kidney stones 

and gallstones from the body. 

Ministry of Health of the Republic of Slovenia recognized thermal water 

as natural healing factor.

In the already existing pool complex on the third floor of the Hotel Vita, 

a completely new sauna complex is situated. It boasts an attractive offer 

of steam and Finnish saunas and the additional offer of performing the 

Kneipp program. 

Reconciliation with the tradition of abandon and body cleansing in our 

peaceful land, refreshment and relaxation will beneficially act on us,
