The primary location for OAISD operations is on a complex located approximately 7 miles north of Holland, Michigan on the corner of US 31 and Port Sheldon Street. Overall, 14 building comprise the physical plant of the OAISD: Careerline Tech Center, Educational Services Building, Juvenile Justice Institute, Juvenile Services Center, Ottawa Area Center, Patrick A. Thompson Michigan Technical Educational Center, Sheldon Pines School, and five Community Based Instruction buildings in Grand Haven, Holland, Hudsonville, and Zeeland. Careerline Tech Center (CTC) 13663 Port Sheldon Road, Holland, MI 49424 CTC provides career and technical training for approximately 1,300 11 th & 12 th grade students in Ottawa County. It also provides career exploration, placement services, counseling, math, English and Science credit and career assessment. The Careerline Tech Center has approximately 45 teachers. Educational Services Building (ESB) 13565 Port Sheldon Road, Holland, MI 49424 This facility serves as the district’s central administration building and as a conference center for professional learning. It houses departments that service OAISD and its LEAs, including: Business Services, Career & Technical Education, Future Prep, Human Resources and Communications, Instructional Services, REMC7 (Regional Educational Media Center), Special Needs Services, and Technology Services. 4
Juvenile Services Center (JSC) 12120 Filmore Street, West Olive, MI. 49460 The Juvenile Services Center staff offer a comprehensive, quality education that serves as an integrational/transitional bridge from the students detention in the Ottawa County Juvenile Services Center to their local school districts. Enrollment is based on length of detention. Approximately 500 students are served in this program each year with up to 40 students incarcerated at any given point-intime. JSC has 4 full-time teachers and 2 part-time staff. Juvenile Justice Institute (JJI) FIA Building-Suite 400, 12185 James Street, Holland, MI 49424 The Juvenile Justice Institute is a program run in partnership with the District for the Ottawa County Family Court. It is designed to serve adjudicated youth who have a long and/or involved history with the Ottawa County Family Court. Approximately 20-25 students are typically enrolled in the Institute. JJI has 2 teachers and 2 teacher assistants. Ottawa Area Center 10160 96 th Ave., Zeeland, MI 49464 Ottawa Area Center strives to be a leader in providing individualized special education services for approximately 290 cognitively and multiply impaired students that maximize their quality of life. In addition to classroom programming, OAC also provides related services such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, adaptive physical education, social work and psychology. The Ottawa Area Center has 63 teachers. Ottawa Area Center also has community-based instruction (CBI) programs with sites in: Grand Haven 1 714-B Columbus Avenue, Grand Haven, MI 49417 Grand Haven 2 714-A Columbus Avenue, Grand Haven, MI 49417 Grand Haven YMCA 1 Y Drive Grand Haven, MI 49417 Holland 145 College Ave Holland, MI 49423 Hudsonville 3472 Harvey Street, Hudsonville, MI 49426 Kandu 4190 Sunnyside Dr. Holland, MI 49424 Zeeland 100 S. Pine, Suite 160 Zeeland, MI 49464 An additional 6 teachers service all of the CBI locations. Patrick A. Thompson Michigan Technical Educational Center (M-TEC) 6364 136th Avenue, Pvt., Holland, MI 49424 M-TEC provides technical training directly aimed at workforce development for students 18 years of age and older. With over 300 courses to choose from, specialty training includes certifications in Health Sciences, Manufacturing, and Office Technology. Thompson M-TEC is also a licensed testing site for over 200 nationally recognized certifications and exams. Delivery options include on-line, blended learning and lab classes. As part of this year’s OAISD Technology Plan, M-TEC plans to upgrade internal administrative technology systems to meet our marketing, registration, and enrollment process needs Sheldon Pines School (SPS) 6542 136 th Ave., Holland, MI 49424 Sheldon Pines School provides special education programming for approximately 35 students with severe behavior issues, most with emotional impairments.
