<strong>Incarnate</strong> <strong>Word</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> Annual Fund<br />

Support the Spirit of the <strong>Word</strong> Annual Fund<br />

IWA’s Spirit of the <strong>Word</strong> Annual Fund supplements the<br />

school’s operating budget, helping to keep tuition affordable<br />

for our families, while maintaining excellent academic<br />

standards. The actual cost of an IWA education for the<br />

2008-<strong>2009</strong> school year is $12,500. With tuition at $7,600,<br />

there is a $4,900 deficit per student. If this amount was<br />

added into this year’s annual budget the sum would be a<br />

staggering $1,347,500. Therefore, we are making a direct<br />

appeal, led by Co-Chairs Paul and Kathy Simpson, to the<br />

entire IWA community to consider a gift to this year’s annual<br />

fund to help close this tuition gap. Funds raised will<br />

fulfill additional needs not possible with tuition dollars<br />

alone, such as facility improvements, curriculum enhancements,<br />

staff professional development, and funding<br />

for scholarships.<br />

Since this is the premier year of the Spirit of the <strong>Word</strong> Annual<br />

Fund, our goal is not based on a dollar amount but<br />

on 100% participation. Everyone in our IWA family consisting<br />

of alumnae, parents, faculty and staff will receive<br />

a letter asking for support. We encourage everyone to<br />

make a gift or a pledge. Gifts of all sizes make a difference<br />

and participation at any level is appreciated. We only ask<br />

that your donation be paid in full by June 30, <strong>2009</strong>.<br />

Please remember: If you work for a company with a<br />

matching gift program, you may be able to double your<br />

contribution and increase your benefits. Ask your employer<br />

if they will match your gift to IWA and please enclose a<br />

completed matching gift form with your donation.<br />
