HOMECOMING
Homecoming Weekend
Homecoming weekend started off with a fabulous
cocktail party in the Rafferty Plaza at IWA on Friday
evening. All who attended enjoyed good food, fun music
and great camaraderie with their fellow classmates. The
campus looks terrific and it is amazing to see how it has
evolved and changed through the years. How proud we
all are of its 136-year history.
Thank you to Barbara van Postman ’69 and Carol Ann
Worhol Avouris ’69 for coordinating this fun annual event
once again! They certainly know how to throw a party!
This year the beautiful Junior League was the location for
the annual homecoming luncheon. Everyone agreed that
this was the perfect location with its elegant décor and
delicious food.

Thanks to the Alumnae Board members for coordinating
this event and carefully planning each detail from the
guest seating, to the beautiful centerpieces and the
alumnae souvenir mugs.
The Sunday Brunch was held again this year at the
Convent of the Incarnate Word Sisters. It was a great way
to start the day by sharing Mass with the Sisters in their
chapel. A delicious brunch followed hosted by classmates
from 1989 Claudia Uribe and Norma Lozano. This event
is always so special because it is an opportunity to spend
time with all the Sisters who are so dear to our hearts.
Homecoming weekend is a great opportunity to
reconnect and reminisce. All are encouraged to
participate in at least one event. The weekend has
something for everyone! Mark your calendars for the
2009 Homecoming Weekend on November 6, 7, and 8.
