Come explore the latest in assistive and instructional technology in the Technology
and Learning Connections (TLC) Hands-On Technology Lab. Attendees can preview
software and technologies in the areas of reading, writing, math, science, virtual
worlds, art and music to support all students in a universal, differentiated core
curriculum through a mutli-tiered system of supports.
A wide range of assistive technologies and Universal Design for Learning tools
will be available to preview. From interactive whiteboards, to science simulations
and reading and writing tools; from text-to-speech, to word prediction, and
communication systems, visitors will find a diverse range of technology
solutions that can increase academic achievement. Technology professionals
and practitioners will be available to answer questions and provide guidance in
matching technology solutions to student needs. The lab includes a wealth of
materials and resources, including a free resource CD for Mac and Windows.
Attendees will leave the lab with technology resources they can use as soon as
they return to their school.
The TLC Hands-On Technology Lab is a joint venture supported by the Problem
Solving/RtI Project, USF; the Resource Materials and Technology Center for the Deaf
and Hard of Hearing; and the Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System.
In addition to the Hands-On Lab, FETC offers Special Education sessions throughout
the conference. Please see the curriculum areas listed in the session listings for
more information.
