Eric is the Principal at New Milford High School located in
Bergen County, NJ. He is passionate about establishing and
fostering learning environments that are student-centered,
collaborative and flexible and will prepare all learners to
succeed in the 21st century. As an educational administrator he believes that
effective communication, listening, support, shared decision making and the
integration of technology are essential elements necessary for the transformation of
school cultures. Eric has emerged as an innovative leader in the use of social media
and web 2.0 technologies as tools to engage students, improve communications
with stakeholders and help educators grow professionally. Eric is a NASSP Digital
Principal Award winner (2012), PDK Emerging Leader Award recipient (2012), Google
Certified Teacher, Adobe Education Leader, ASCD 2011 Conference Scholar, coauthor
of Communicating and Connecting With Social Media: Essentials for Principals
and What Principals Need to Know About Teaching and Learning Science, a writer on
education for the Huffington Post, co-creator of the Edscape Conference, sits on the
FEA board of directors and was named to the NSBA “20 to Watch” list in 2010 for
technology leadership. He now presents and speaks nationally to assist other school
leaders to embrace and more effectively utilize technology. His blog, “A Principal’s
Reflections,” was selected as Best School Administrator Blog in 2011 by Edublogs.

Soloway and Norris have been crusading for mobile learning
since the early Palm Pilot days. They have been exploring
ways to use personal technology to transform—rather than
simply enhance or enrich— teaching and learning. Finally,
with the coming of the cell phone, low-cost, easy-to-use, truly
personal, truly portable (not just transportable), computing
devices their vision is being realized in schools worldwide! In various sessions,
Norris and Soloway will describe how classrooms all over the globe that are
employing mobile technologies to dramatically improve student performance.

Dr. Thornburg has worked in the field of education technology
for decades. In addition to presenting workshops and
presentations at conferences and districts, he teaches PhDlevel
courses on instructional technology for Walden University.
He has spoken at FETC many times and always provides fresh insights. In addition
to his work in the U.S., David also works in Brazil where he is involved with many
education projects across the public and private sector.

Dr. Brent Williams is the director of the Kennesaw State
University iTeach Center. His high performance team is on
a mission to help teachers and students achieve their best
possible future through the use of advanced education
technologies. They do this by guiding teachers to become comfortable with handheld
devices, tablet devices, legacy technologies and with a new role as a classroom
advocate for learning. Brent is a well-known speaker, instructor and consultant.
He has more than 30 years of experience in private and public sector technology
analysis, management and training. Brent has a bachelor’s degree in electrical
engineering technology, a master’s degree in technology management and a PhD in

Julie Young, President and CEO of Florida Virtual School (FLVS),
the nation’s largest and most influential kindergarten - 12th
grade online program, acquired her love for teaching and
learning at a young age. Her accomplishments as a school teacher, trainer and
assistant principal, coupled with an interest in combining technology and learning
evolved into a joint effort to launch the first statewide high school in 1997.
