CONFERENCE INFORMATION & SERVICES Parking There is limited parking available adjacent to the South Complex of the Orange County Convention Center. The Convention Center currently charges a per-entry fee of $13 for passenger vehicles and $25 for oversized vehicles. After 5:00 pm parking rates are $8 for passenger vehicles and $16 for oversized vehicles. Plug In And Power Up FETC is pleased to provide attendees an area to plug in and power up their devices. The Plug In and Power Up station is located on the Exhibit Hall in booths 564 and 1521 and open during all Exhibit Hall hours. Press Room Each year, FETC attracts the attention of the nation’s top business education and technology media with pre-conference news coverage, reports from the conference and post-event stories. All members of the media may check in at the Press Room located on the main concourse S220D. Professional Networking Lounges: Where To Meet and Greet IT Leader Lounge Located in Room S312, the IT Leader Lounge offers enhanced networking opportunities for all IT Leaders Tuesday through Thursday during regular conference hours. Superintendents, MIS directors and administrators can relax, refresh, plug in and power up at the IT Leader Lounge. Bloggers Café Located on the third level at the end of the S320s on the overlook, the Bloggers Cafe will be open during regular conference hours for conversations with other bloggers and a coffee stand. It is a casual gathering place for blogging, sharing and face-to-face conversations. Additionally, Bloggers Café will feature designated times to meet the editors of T.H.E Journal, our media sponsor and sister publication. Come make connections to expand your personal learning network! Presentation Materials With such a wide array of sessions to choose from, it’s impossible to attend them all. Presentation materials and conference proceedings for each session can be found in the FETC Edmodo Community listed under the session is the six-digit event code during and after the event. Use the six-digit code for each session to backchannel and share resources. JANUARY 28 – 31, 2014 ORANGE COUNTY CONVENTION CENTER ORLANDO, FL Shuttle Service Complimentary shuttle service will be available to transport attendees to and from each of the participating conference hotels and the Orange County Convention Center during regular conference hours. Please allow 20–30 minutes between the convention center and your hotel. The Rosen Centre will not have shuttle service due to its close proximity to the convention center. Look for shuttle route maps in the lobby of your hotel, or stop by the transportation desk located at the bus loop of the South Concourse of the OCCC. This year’s conference will feature 200+ Concurrent and BYOD Sessions addressing current and emerging technologies, as well as best practices developed through research and actual classroom experience. For a complete listing of session descriptions, visit the information booth or room S220A for a hard copy or utilize the FETC 2013 mobile app. Concurrent BYOD Sessions Enhanced internet bandwidth at OCCC is making more Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) sessions possible! BYOD means participants utilize their own laptops, tablets, mobile or smart devices in each session. It is not necessary to have a device to participate but speakers will provide instructions and resources to allow audience members to interact with their content during the sessions. Featured Sessions FETC offers Featured Sessions addressing best practices, educational breakthroughs, curriculum development through research and actual classroom experiences. Featured Sessions focusing on hot topics and technology trends will be held during each of the Concurrent Sessions and will be noted in the program. All Featured Sessions are led by an array of nationally recognized speakers presenting in their areas of expertise. Poster Sessions: New This Year This year FETC has introduced one-hour poster sessions into our conference program. This new feature at FETC will highlight innovative schools and districts that have implemented an exemplary technology integration project with success. Case studies were selected as poster presentations based on their interest, relevance and value to the FETC community. Presenters post their displays for attendee viewing and are on hand with their displays for discussion and networking during the assigned session times. These sessions provide opportunities for attendees to engage in in-depth, informal discussions with the presenters.
