Alan heads sustainable development activity in <strong>Jacobs</strong>' UK Offices,<br />
working with colleagues to develop bids and enhance <strong>Jacobs</strong>'<br />
sustainability offering in the UK and globally. Alan has worked on a<br />
range of both strategic and operational sustainability initiatives<br />
including sustainability appraisals, sustainability work in the<br />
Caribbean, <strong>Jacobs</strong> Corporate Sustainability Report, bid support and<br />
liaison with key clients. Alan runs <strong>Jacobs</strong> Global Sustainability<br />
Practice Group.<br />
Alan has worked with key clients such as the Highways Agency on<br />
their Sustainability Framework, Transport Scotland on the Forth<br />
Replacement Crossing, Fife <strong>Council</strong> on the new Schools Programme,<br />
The Scottish Prison Service, Scottish Water Solutions, Babcock<br />
Marine, Dublin Port and SNIFFER.<br />
AEA Program Development Manager<br />
Alan was the Programme Development Manager for AEA, managing<br />
business development in the Sustainability, Climate Change and<br />
Transport sectors within Scotland, at Scottish Government, Local<br />
Authority and private sector level<br />
Scotland Business Manager Envirowise Program. Alan was the<br />
Business Manager for Envirowise Programme, promoting resource<br />
efficiency to Scottish businesses and the public sector.<br />
<strong>Regional</strong> Development Manager KTP. Alan was the <strong>Regional</strong><br />
Development Manager for the Knowledge Transfer Partnerships<br />
Programme (KTP).<br />
Sustainable Development Commission. Alan led the first ever<br />
comprehensive review of Scotland's Sustainable Development<br />
Strategy "Choosing Our Future" which was commissioned by the<br />
Sustainable Development Commission in Scotland.<br />
Scottish Enterprise. Alan developed and led the first ever sustainable<br />
development "learning journey" undertaken by Scottish Enterprise.<br />
This involved taking a range of leading Scottish companies to Berlin<br />
in Germany to visit Volkswagen, Bosch, O2, Vattenfall and Berlin<br />
Airport to witness how German companies embedded sustainable<br />
development into their business activities.<br />
