Marilyn Hassett> and best friend Audi-a
Jo (Belinda Montgomery) dieam of going to 1956 Olympics
as members of the U.S. ski team, but Audra Jo is
stricken with polio and Jill suffers a near-fatal accident
in the finals which leaves her paralyzed from the waist
down. Finally facing reality she will never walk again,
Jill goes thi'ough rehabilitation and eventually realizes
her di'eam to teach at the Paiute Indian reservation near
her family's home in Bishop, Calif. Her one real love
though, Dick Buek (Beau Bridges), dies in a plane crash
before he can marry her.
EXPLOITIPS:
Ti3 in with a talk show on TV or radio, discussing plight
of paraplegics and their usefulness in society. Hold a special
screening for members of local ski clubs. Single by
Olivia Newton-John might offer possibilities for record
tie-ins.

THE STORY:
"At Long Last Love" (20th-Fox)
New York in 1935 is the setting as rich Cybill Shepherd
is told by maid Eileen Bremian that her allowance from
mother has been stopped. Meanwhile, bored and very
wealthy Burt Reynolds literally loms into musical comedy
star Madeline Kahn and a romance ensues. At the race
track. Shepherd and Brennan meet Italian Duilio Del
Prete, who makes a play for Cybill after winning heavily.
As luck and the script would have it, Reynolds and chaufleui'
John Hillerman take in Kahn's show and sit next to
Shepherd and Del Prete. Shepherd and Kahn prove to
be old classmates and the two couples double date. At
Reviiolds' Long Island estate, Bremian makes a big play
lor tne reserved Hillerman. When Reynolds and Shepherd
discover a mutual attraction, Del Prete and Kahn decide
to make them jealous by carrying on their own affair.
Shepherd by now has received a large payment from
mother and goes shopping, meeting Kahn. At a dance,
the original couples get together, but change partners for
Reynolds and Shepherd, plus Kahn and Del Prete.
EXPLOITIPS:
The original soundtrack album is on RCA Records;
among the hits are "You're the Top," "Just One of Those
Things," "It's De-Lovely," "Well, Did You Evah!", 16 in
all. Tie ill with the Art Deco craze and play up the names.

THE STORY:
"Daughters, Daughters!" (S-B)
Prosperous Shai K. Ophii-, owner of orange groves and
a factory in Tel-Aviv, has a large house, a wife and eight
daughters. He tells employee and friend Yosef Shiloah
that he wants a son as an heir. Shiloah then takes him to
religious mystic Avner Chizkiyahu, who instructs him on
the proper method for impregnating his wife and bringing
forth a son. Constantly di-eaming of eight boys, even to
seeing himself happily in his grave surrounded by his
male brood, Ophir has wife Zaharira Harifai unknowingly
submit to the ritual. When a ninth daughter is born,
Ophir scorns his wife and offers marriage to his young
mistress if she will bear him a boy. Refused, Ophir cares
for the baby when Harifai briefly retm-ns to her mother.
Shiloah helps until Ophir discovers that Shiloah has made
eldest daughter Michal Bat-Adam pregnant. The two
wed and Bat-Adam gives birth to a girl as Ophir resignedly
expected.
EXPLOITIPS:
Mention the films presentation as the official Israeli
entries at the Cannes and San Francisco Film Festivals,
also Ophir's winning of Israel's Best Actor Award. Invite
fathers of eight or more daughters to special screenings
to be covered by the media.

THE STORY: "Silence" (CFA)
Eric is an autistic child, who has become very withdrawn
since the death of his parents. Although there
seems to be nothing wiong with him medically, he appears
incapable of speaking or learning. Barbara and Al
are a childless couple, who take Eric into their home and
try to communicate with him. They take him on a camping
trip. Eric disappears and gets lost in the forest. He
gets caught in a trapper's snare by a wild-looking hermit,
Crazy Jack. Not realizing Eric's deaf-mute state, he thinks
the boy is just frightened and starts teaching him the
ways of the wilderness. Eric later rmis away again. The
story culminates with a rabid, snarling coyote driving Eric
to the edge of a high cliff. Shocked and desperate, Eric
screams "Momma." Crazy Jack and the young couple find
and rescue him.
EXPLOITIPS:
Stress that this is an outdoor film and fine family
entertainment. Plan tie-ins with nature study groups.

THE STORY: "Massage Parlor Wife" (Boxoffice Int'l)
Jenn Gillian, not one to meekly accept manly moments
as far as sexual pleasm'es are concerned, finds relaxation
and respite—when not applying herself in a massage par
lor—in the company of Brandi Saunders, a bisexual. Fact
leads to fantasy, in which Jenn is sexually assaulted by
a muscular man. Finally getting her fill of massage parlor
tempo, Jemi settles back for a long, loving session with
her husband.

A sound audience-seller would appear to be run-ofpaper
