The TV critic and ITV’s Good Morning Britain showbiz editor turns
reporter for HELLO! to bring us the hottest telly gossip. This week, he
tangos with a Strictly judge and samples life with the super rich

Come Dancing
judge Craig Revel Horwood is
never shy about telling it like it is.
So it comes as no surprise that the
49-year-old already has a firm eye
on who will lift the glitterball
trophy this year.
“Mark Wright is fantastic,”
he enthuses of the reality
star’s recent salsa. “I think
Pixie Lott could do it if
the public vote for her.
The judges [above] will, of
course. I think Simon Webbe
is in with a bit of chance
because he’s improving every
week and gaining so much
confidence. Caroline Flack I
think is wonderful as well.
There’s four finalists there.”
Next year is shaping up to
be Craig’s busiest yet,
kicking off with 50th
birthday celebrations, first
in London in January then
a family party in late
February on an island in
Sydney Harbour.
He looks remarkable
for it. Surely it’s not just
soap and water “It is,
darling,” he says. “I
don’t use much else
apart from a
good
moisturiser. I
don’t eat as
many carbs as I
used to. It’s all
butternut
squash and carrots. I do watch what goes into my
mouth – I have been quite porky in the past.”
Craig will spend much of 2015 on the road
following his stint in panto in Dartford playing
Captain Hook in Peter Pan. “Then we start
rehearsals for the Strictly live tour and when that
finishes I come back from my Australian trip to
start the UK tour of Annie as Miss Hannigan in
July. I’m on that all through Strictly next year
and then it’s panto in Watford – as the
Wicked Queen in Snow White. I’m basically
being a woman all next year.”
Craig, who struck up a friendship with
the Duchess of Cornwall a while ago
thanks to their shared support for the
National Osteoporosis Society,
tells me he has been fortunate
to tick most
ONE TO WATCH
boxes in life, thanks in
part to the huge success of
Strictly. “Oh, and here’s a
scoop for you. I’ve just
bought a sit-down
mower. That was on my
bucket list.”
