Cultural <strong>Services</strong><br />
DenizKültür represents the Group’s corporate and<br />
social mission with its activities supporting education,<br />
culture, arts and sports.<br />
DenizKültür<br />
<strong>DenizBank</strong> Culture Arts&Publication Inc.<br />
(DenizKültür) was established in 2004 to<br />
organize and support cultural and related<br />
activities, particularly scholarly research,<br />
arts and literature. DenizKültür represents<br />
the Group’s corporate and social mission<br />
with its activities supporting education,<br />
culture, arts and sports.<br />
DenizKültür’s activities include:<br />
• Publishing books in the fields of science,<br />
arts and literature,<br />
• Producing audio and visual cultural<br />
materials,<br />
• Performing arts activities,<br />
• Organizing collections and exhibitions of<br />
plastic arts and handcrafts,<br />
• Organizing campaigns in line with its<br />
social mission and<br />
• Pursuing other cultural activities that will<br />
emerge from new ideas.<br />
2009 Art Year Productions and<br />
Publications<br />
Book, CD and DVD Publications<br />
“Sesli Edebiyat Dizisi/Öyküler ‘SES’leniyor”<br />
(Audio Literature Series/Stories Speak Out)<br />
The master set was created for the second<br />
volume of the “Sesli Edebiyat Dizisi”<br />
(Audio Literature Series) project, the first<br />
volume of which was released in 2007.<br />
While the first set featured authors who<br />
lived between 1848 and 1952, the second<br />
set presents 100 short stories written by<br />
authors born after 1952 and are read by<br />
prominent theatrical actors and actresses,<br />
in a 22-CDs set. In 2009, 5,000 copies<br />
of this series, whose master set was<br />
completed, were reproduced and were<br />
distributed for purchase.<br />
Diary of Turkey<br />
The 13-part documentary series “Diary of<br />
Turkey,” produced by Nebil Özgentürk in<br />
2008, was reproduced as a set consisting<br />
of one book and eight DVDs in an edition<br />
of 5,000 copies and was offered for sale<br />
in 2009.<br />
<strong>DenizBank</strong>’s visual archive that consists<br />
of professional video recordings and<br />
photographs was compiled by DenizKültür.<br />
The cataloguing effort for this project,<br />
which began in 2009, is still ongoing.<br />
All works produced by DenizKültür were<br />
offered at bookstores throughout Turkey as<br />
well as at historic and tourist destinations<br />
in Istanbul.<br />
As is always the case, the Company will<br />
publish at least two books in 2010. In<br />
addition, new internal projects and external<br />
projects needing support will be taken into<br />
consideration and implemented during the<br />
year.<br />
