2. Compliance Activities<br />
Compliance activities were carried out by<br />
three departments in 2009.<br />
The Corporate Compliance Department sets<br />
the main compliance rules and establishes<br />
the coordination with subsidiaries in<br />
compliance matters.<br />
AML Department prevents money laundering<br />
and financing of terrorism; it detects and<br />
monitors suspicious transactions and brings<br />
them to the attention of public authorities.<br />
The Regulation Department monitors the<br />
changes in regulations, shares them with<br />
the organization and keeps the Bank’s<br />
relevant departments of them so that they<br />
will comply with the amendments.<br />
3. Operational Risk Management Activities<br />
The Department was established in 2008<br />
to ensure the flawless and efficient<br />
implementation of processes throughout<br />
DFSG. It is responsible for identification,<br />
measurement, monitoring and management<br />
of operational risks.<br />
Risk Management Group<br />
<strong>DenizBank</strong>’s Risk Management Group<br />
is responsible for the creation, audit<br />
and reporting of necessary policies and<br />
implementation procedures to identify,<br />
measure, analyze and monitor risks within<br />
the framework of the principles determined<br />
by the Bank’s senior management and Risk<br />
Management Group and approved by the<br />
Board of Directors.<br />
The Group periodically reports all risk<br />
analyses that provide guidance to the Audit<br />
Committee and the Assets and Liabilities<br />
Committee to determine and monitor<br />
risk limits and develop risk management<br />
strategies.<br />
Monitoring, analysis, assessment and<br />
modeling of credit risk are conducted by<br />
the credit allocation departments of the<br />
relevant groups, the Credit Committee, the<br />
Risk Committee and the Risk Management<br />
Group. Results pertaining to credit risk are<br />
reported to the Board of Directors.<br />
