at Adelaide Oval, taking
the flag in a thriller over
the Roosters in 1973.
The Bays were also first
to play in a Grand Final

1974, going down to the

SANFL APPOINT NEW VICE PRESIDENT
Following the retirement
of South Australian
football legend John Halbert
MBE, the SANFL has
appointed Jamie Coppins as
Vice President and SA
Football Commission
Deputy Chairman.
As well as taking on the
role of Vice President, Jamie
was also appointed the
Commission’s ambassador
for the SANFL State League
competition and the nine
SANFL clubs.
Jamie has a long history of
dedicated service to South
Australian footy having
served on the SANFL
Commission since 1995.
Jamie is also Chairman of
the Salary Cap Committee
and a member of the
SANFL Audit Committee.
Prior to this, Jamie was
involved with the North
Adelaide Football Club
where he held various
portfolios including Club
President, Chairman and
League Director.
This followed an illustrious
playing career with North
when Jamie represented the
Roosters in 127 games
during the years 1963-71.
Jamie became a North
Adelaide Life Member
in1972 and continued his
close association with the
playing side of the game as
Chairman of Selectors from
1974-82.
His combined career as a
player and administrator at
Prospect spanned 34 years.
In further news, President
of the SANFL and Chairman
of the SA Football
Commission, Rod Payze,
was reappointed for a
further three years.
