Community Field Day, Friday 1 st April at 11am

most sincerely those who attended the working bee on

Harry Hall
Harry Hall from Year 8 is our Achiever of the Month
featuring this month and this comes after some
stunning swimming performances from Harry recently.
As mentioned earlier he won all his events in the
Hurunui Primary Schools championships and the
margins in his races were 5 seconds, 7 seconds,
8 seconds and 9 seconds which represent huge margins
in 50m races. Harry competes in the Canterbury
Primary Schools champs soon and we wish him well for
those.

FROM THE VICAR – DOUBLE PRIVILEGE to be
entrusted with the gospel and to be co-labourers with
God to reach out to others is a double privilege. We
don't have to serve God; it's our greatest privilege. But
a privilege it is! , not a duty or a chore and should be
done in the attitude of joy. People should look at myself
and other Christians, and naturally want to ask us, 'What
is the reason for the hope you have within you. Not so
much as you worship together, but more the way you live
and work together in the community. Something very
precious is happening in New Zealand, Great Britain,
Europe and around the world. Many people are being
reached, especially young people. See elsewhere in the
Peril/Citizen the offer to come and join the amazing
'Easter Camp' in Sanders Park. 21-25 April with
thousands of young folk on fire for their faith. God is
doing great things in great places through his people. I
don't have time in this article to include all the awesome
youth ministries I have had the privilege of seeing
firsthand. For example May 5 th sees an awesome Youth
Points Of View follow up to Easter Camp. Every morning
when I wake up I remind myself that God is doing
amazing things around the world. But I won't see any if I
stay in bed! Sometimes when my alarm goes off in the
morning, I don't want to get out of bed, then I thank God I
can hear, as many are deaf. I close my eyes as long as
possible to block out the light, but then I remember to
thank God for my sight because many are blind. I lay still
as long as possible, but I thank God as I get out of bed,
as many are bed ridden. In the crazy morning rush, when
my socks are lost, toast is burned, tempers are short, I
thank you for being my family, there are many who are
alone. Even though our breakfast never looks like
pictures in a magazine and at times the menu is limited, I
thank God for the food we have, many are hungry. I
thank God for the Bath the Toilet when many in
Christchurch do not. I have decided to be thankful today,
because many people will not live out the day. Faith as
well as Jesus ACTUAL words/experiences are as ever
timelessly relevant. So fancy a yarn or a flat
white Taking cake or muffin orders, maybe even a pie
to order So if you need to get something off your chest
the Vicarage door is an open door or I'll come to you

During these three days Amuri Area School is
hosting CASAfest - an annual sporting and
cultural event in which the 6 Canterbury Area
Schools take part.
To be able to host this event we needed to
find beds for 200 extra students. To date the
response has been great but we still need to
find beds for around 30.
Please if you have room for one or two
billets during this time phone Chrystal at
school 315 8233.
All you need to do is:
• Collect them from the school at 8.15pm
Wed 13 th .
• Collect them from Hanmer 7pm/Mouse
Point 7.20pm/Culverden 7.30pm approx
on Thursday 14 th as they are spending the
day in Hanmer (there may be buses
running depending on numbers in each
area).
• Bring them to school on Friday 15 th
• Supply them with somewhere to sleep
