Designated Assisted Living<br />
• Private Assisted Living Residences or designated facilities have a contractual agreement with<br />
Alberta Health Services to provide room, board and some support services.<br />
• This program is for an individual who may require 24-hour personal care support, and<br />
occasional and scheduled professional care, can no longer live at home even with support<br />
services and would benefit from being in a group setting.<br />
• Services offered are: 24-hour personal care to help with bathing, meals and dressing, 24-hour<br />
access to an on-call registered nurse, and a Home Care nurse to manage the client’s plan.<br />
• Alberta Health Services covers the cost of the support services. The resident is responsible for<br />
the room and board charge plus personal expenses such as, laundry and medications. Room<br />
and board includes meals, snacks, housekeeping, linen service and social activities.<br />
• Residency requirements apply to this program. An assessment is needed to qualify for this<br />
program.<br />
