communities, private sector organizations and research institutions working in the forestry sectors of Nepal. The project will
create an enabling environment to involve its stakeholders in the implementation phase.
6.6 Social Inclusion and Gender
The benefits of the information generated by the project can be appreciated by both men and women. The project will respect
the national agenda of mainstreaming the marginalized section of the society (including women, lower caste groups,
Madhesi, etc.). The project will interact with various organizations to address the inclusion and gender issues.
The project will follow the recommendations and findings of the Women and Dalit Commissions of Nepal. These
commissions are responsible for promoting gender equality in Nepal and providing strategic support for the continued
discussion and legislation of gender and inclusion issues. With maintaining the quality, the project will aim to ensure social
equality in recruiting personnel, training and in other activities. The information related to natural resources could encourage
private investors and government to plan forest-based income generating activities. The sustainable use of natural resources
will contribute to the enhancement of employment opportunities and reduce poverty in remote areas.
6.7 Environment
Application of proper land use policy and coherent forestry planning will have many positive impacts on the environment.
Output of the project will support rational policy making and effective implementation for forestry sector development. The
information system will enable the decision support system, which will have positive impacts on the environment.
6.8 Appropriate technology
The project aims to use appropriate technology to make FRA processes more efficient and effective. Internet based
applications and tools will be used to avoid funding problems in the future. The technologies used in FRA process will be
transferred and institutionalized in DFRS.
