Executive Summary<br />
Supply Chain Management<br />
<strong>Acer</strong> has always embraced a positive attitude when working with its suppliers to endeavor after mutually beneficial goals, instituting<br />
management criteria while opening up multiple channels of communication with suppliers. In <strong>2009</strong>, <strong>Acer</strong> asked suppliers to sign "<strong>Acer</strong><br />
Supplier Code of Conduct Declaration," added new evaluation and analysis items in the SAQ, and worked with third-party auditors to<br />
launch an on-site auditing mechanism for verifying suppliers' Social and Environmental <strong>Responsibility</strong> (SER) implementation effectiveness.<br />
We plan to increase the number of suppliers in the auditing process to include a supplier-specific SER performance assessment, while<br />
offering necessary trainings to simultaneously bettering their ability to make improvements.<br />
Employee Care<br />
We at <strong>Acer</strong> understand that "People Matter," and with that in mind, <strong>Acer</strong> established many conduits of communication, such as Gardener's<br />
Meeting and online employee opinion surveys to encourage staff's input and feedback. <strong>Acer</strong> is also devoted to creating a healthful, quality<br />
workplace, organizing many recreational and self-improvement activities, and offering a number of welfare programs. In <strong>2009</strong>, <strong>Acer</strong><br />
introduced CSR trainings in its Taiwan HQ; we planned to launch a CSR online training program, and set up a more effective online learning<br />
system. In the same year, <strong>Acer</strong> inaugurated a new version of Standards of Business Conduct, by which <strong>Acer</strong> employees can measure their<br />
business conduct propriety.<br />
Customer Communication<br />
With a view to facilitating <strong>Acer</strong>'s customers service, we made a number of adjustments over the period of <strong>2009</strong>, including the integration of<br />
<strong>Acer</strong>'s Global Download Center and consolidation of its global website, the expansion of International Traveler Warranty, and a significant<br />
increase in the number of service centers in Greater China. In addition, <strong>Acer</strong> took responsibility to "Improve Customer's Environmental<br />
and Social <strong>Responsibility</strong> Awareness" so that as we introduce environmentally friendly products, customers are invited to engage in CSR<br />
projects, and encouraged to jointly adopt an eco-friendly consumer practice.<br />
Community Involvement<br />
In <strong>2009</strong>, <strong>Acer</strong>'s bases of operations around the world organized a total of 81 community projects. The company instituted Volunteering<br />
Service Leave in <strong>Acer</strong>'s Leave Application in support of staffs interested in community outreach. We at <strong>Acer</strong> are developing community<br />
involvement projects to create digital opportunities, so that the company can better utilize its core capabilities to service the community.<br />
The <strong>Report</strong> is a detailed statement of <strong>Acer</strong>'s CSR performances at present. We at <strong>Acer</strong> understand that due to the expectations of<br />
stakeholders and the change in social environment, sustainability-related issues will inevitably undergo shifts and modifications. But as a<br />
pioneering, multinational brand, we vow to ingrain the ability to address corporate responsibility issues into <strong>Acer</strong>'s core values, and foster<br />
a closer partnership with its supply chain as such, continuing to reinvent ourselves with a positive attitude to share and learn in the spirit of<br />
humility.<br />
