Many a tourist town or destination would count itself lucky to enjoy such abundance as <strong>Rab</strong>.<br />

The fertile land of <strong>Rab</strong> and the fruit it bears, and the surrounding sea, rich in excellent fish<br />

and first-class shrimps, form the basis of <strong>Rab</strong>’s gastronomic offering, which is characterised<br />

by healthy Mediterranean cooking. In <strong>Rab</strong>’s numerous, top-class restaurants, the freshest<br />

fish and seafood are served, together with freshly-picked fruits of the earth, all of which are<br />

accompanied by the experience and tradition of top chefs.<br />

The cuisine here is so rich and so much a product of its environment that it has even<br />

become one of the island’s souvenirs. The rapska torta, the unique-tasting cake that has<br />

been produced on the island for 800 years, is one of the most prized souvenirs of <strong>Rab</strong> and of<br />

Croatia. Organically-grown olives, figs, grapes and especially organic honey, are characteristic<br />

<strong>Rab</strong> delicacies, whose tastes tempt and intoxicate.<br />

Discovering the cuisine of <strong>Rab</strong> and learning its subtleties is a worthwhile undertaking, with<br />

total enjoyment as its reward.<br />
