RAB TOWN
BARBAT
TOURIST TOWNS
The town of Rab is a special place on the island for tourists. With its historic, cultural and tourist heritage, Rab is a true jewel.
Besides the town of Rab itself, there is a range of interesting tourist locations on the island, each of which captures the imagination in a different
way, whether with its beauty, peace, beaches or range of available apartments.Almost as though they were a part of the town of Rab, Banjol and
Barbat continue to the southeast. Once these were rural areas around the town, abundant in vineyards and fertile gardens. Today they are full
of beautiful houses with extremely comfortable privately-owned apartments and rooms in family houses. Barbat is also notable for its series of
small harbours along the coastal road, almost like small marinas, where both guests and their hosts find a place to moor.
This area is also of interest for its long chain of small sandy beaches in the Pudarica region.
TOURIST TOWNS
What makes Barbat and Banjol famous throughout Europe are the 10 or so restaurants here, which are among the best in the Adriatic.
Top-class fresh fish, home-grown vegetables and quality wines are just part of the guarantee of quality. The rest can be attributed to the
experience, know-how and skill of the local chefs and waiters, who evoke the admiration of guests with their abilities and with their polite
service.
A couple of kilometres further, on the other side of the town of Rab, we find the tourist towns of Palit and Kampor. In terms of the
landscape, it is as though we are on a different island. Here everything is more peaceful, and the great bays and thick pine and oak woods
give this part of the island of Rab a special tranquillity.
