Parenting Workshop for parents of pre-adolescents (10 years and older) and<br />
adolescents<br />
The bat and bar mitzvah mark the Jewish child’s transition into adulthood. How<br />
do we prepare ourselves and our children for this transition Explore effective<br />
strategies for guiding and supporting a child during these turbulent years.<br />
Session 1: The breakdown of parental authority: Are parents becoming too soft<br />
with their children<br />
Session II: Preparing a teenager for adulthood - Is there a crucial ingredient A<br />
discussion with a 16 year old boy.<br />
Session III: Mom & Dad: Similar but different: The distinctive role of mother &<br />
father in the developing life of their child.<br />
Session IV: Dad, Mom: Why are you fighting The template children use for<br />
managing their own conflict and challenges.<br />
All workshops are held at Great Park Synagogue @ 7:45PM. Donation:<br />

Dr Ronel Duchen is a counselling psychologist. She is the founder of the<br />
Familyzone Mediation Centre and the author of various books. Read more<br />

Mr Trevor Friedman is a clinical psychologist with 30 years experience. He<br />
is married and has 4 children and 2 grandchildren.<br />
