Parenting Workshop for parents of pre-adolescents (10 years and older) and
adolescents
The bat and bar mitzvah mark the Jewish child’s transition into adulthood. How
do we prepare ourselves and our children for this transition Explore effective
strategies for guiding and supporting a child during these turbulent years.
Session 1: The breakdown of parental authority: Are parents becoming too soft
with their children
Session II: Preparing a teenager for adulthood - Is there a crucial ingredient A
discussion with a 16 year old boy.
Session III: Mom & Dad: Similar but different: The distinctive role of mother &
father in the developing life of their child.
Session IV: Dad, Mom: Why are you fighting The template children use for
managing their own conflict and challenges.
All workshops are held at Great Park Synagogue @ 7:45PM. Donation:

Dr Ronel Duchen is a counselling psychologist. She is the founder of the
Familyzone Mediation Centre and the author of various books. Read more

Mr Trevor Friedman is a clinical psychologist with 30 years experience. He
is married and has 4 children and 2 grandchildren.
