This large, loaf-shaped <strong>sea</strong> cucumber is seen during <strong>the</strong> day<br />
and night on <strong>the</strong> deeper forereef slope, usually below 10 m<br />
depth. It grows to about 50 cm in length and is mottled brown<br />
and white. Large specimens evince five yellowish anal teeth.<br />
This is among <strong>the</strong> most commercially valuable species in <strong>the</strong><br />
beche-de-mer trade and has likely been fished out <strong>of</strong> much <strong>of</strong><br />
its former range in <strong>the</strong> <strong>central</strong> Philippines.<br />
