to honour the mary Kay adoptee spirit.<br />

historically rich and humbling award.<br />
The go-give award TM was born in the image of one<br />
of our greatest Independent National Sales Directors<br />
(NSD), Sue Z. Vickers. Sue started her Mary Kay<br />
business in 1965, debuted as an Independent Sales<br />
Director eight months later and became our sixth<br />
NSD in January 1974. Her good deeds and positive<br />
influence have become legacy in our Company.<br />
At Seminar ’71, Sue was honoured with the first<br />
award for unselfishly inspiring and motivating those<br />
who sought her help. Sue made every effort to<br />
include anyone in her unit who wanted to be there –<br />
pioneering the adoptive Independent Sales Director<br />
program and helping to propagate the Company’s<br />
“no-territories” policy.<br />
Two years later, the go-giveTM award program was<br />
officially organized to recognize one Independent<br />
Sales Director each month for her willingness to help<br />
any sister independent sales force member climb the<br />
ladder of success. The annual go-giveTM award has<br />
been presented at Seminars since 1978, the year Sue<br />
died.<br />
The go-giveTM Spirit is an important cornerstone in<br />
the foundation of our Company. When all independent<br />
sales force members strive to exemplify it in their<br />
business efforts, the highest professional standards<br />
of integrity, honesty and responsibility are upheld and<br />
the foundation of this Company remains strong.<br />
The go-giveTM award is perhaps the greatest<br />
honour a Mary Kay Independent Sales Director can<br />
earn. Those who possess the go-giveTM Spirit are the<br />
heart of the Company and our shining hope for the<br />
future.<br />

The annual go-give TM Award was first presented in<br />
Canada in 1980. Over the years, the Canadian go-<br />
give TM program has undergone many changes, but the<br />
go-give TM Spirit has remained a vibrant and essential<br />
part of the Canadian independent sales force.
