<strong>Philadelphia</strong> Science Festival 2012<br />

The Clark Park Science Discovery Day on Sunday, April 29,<br />

helped to put a fitt<strong>in</strong>g end on <strong>the</strong> <strong>Philadelphia</strong> Science<br />

Festival. <strong>U<strong>Sciences</strong></strong> sponsored three tables, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />

one run by physical <strong>the</strong>rapy students who helped people<br />

measure leg strength and jump<strong>in</strong>g height (left) and one<br />

run by biology students and alumni, like ANDY HUYNH<br />

MB’11 (above), who handed out homemade microscopes.<br />

Scientific discovery mixed with hands-on<br />

fun were <strong>the</strong> trademarks <strong>of</strong> <strong>U<strong>Sciences</strong></strong>’<br />

<strong>in</strong>volvement as a core partner <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>Philadelphia</strong> Science Festival. The citywide<br />

collaboration showcas<strong>in</strong>g science and<br />

technology took place from April 21 to<br />

29 with a mixture <strong>of</strong> carnivals, lectures,<br />

open lab days, and o<strong>the</strong>r experiences.<br />

Local astronomers helped guide participants<br />

on a celestial tour, po<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g out, among o<strong>the</strong>r<br />

th<strong>in</strong>gs, a flyby <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternational space<br />

station on Friday, April 27.<br />
