between our two countries.<br />

Needless to say it is quite an honor for<br />

Hyon who will have <strong>the</strong> opportunity<br />

to also reconnect with her ethnic roots.<br />

Certa<strong>in</strong>ly <strong>the</strong> opportunity would not have<br />

been possible without her OT tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g.<br />

“I have to say that my favorite course<br />

was neuroscience with Dr. ROGER<br />

IDEISHI,” she said. “Neuroscience was<br />

followed by a series <strong>of</strong> amaz<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>ternships,<br />

<strong>in</strong>trigu<strong>in</strong>g classes, and <strong>the</strong> opportunity<br />

to meet with respected OTs who<br />

are extremely <strong>in</strong>vested <strong>in</strong> our pr<strong>of</strong>ession.”<br />

Hyon looks forward to becom<strong>in</strong>g a<br />

seasoned practitioner with a background<br />

<strong>in</strong> cl<strong>in</strong>ical research. She sees herself<br />

eventually end<strong>in</strong>g up <strong>in</strong> academia so that<br />

she “can jo<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> movement that <strong>in</strong>spires<br />

and educates <strong>the</strong> OTs <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> future.”<br />

“[My] neuroscience [course] was followed by a series <strong>of</strong> amaz<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>in</strong>ternships, <strong>in</strong>trigu<strong>in</strong>g classes, and <strong>the</strong> opportunity to meet with<br />

respected OTs who are extremely <strong>in</strong>vested <strong>in</strong> our pr<strong>of</strong>ession.”<br />

Amir Forouzan MBA’12, Hunt<strong>in</strong>gdon Valley, Pa.<br />

“I had <strong>the</strong> opportunity to learn<br />

from faculty who have worked<br />

or are work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>dustry<br />

<strong>in</strong> various capacities.”<br />

Amir Forouzan MBA’12<br />

Before return<strong>in</strong>g to school, AMIR<br />

FOROUZAN was a project director at a<br />

medical market research outfit <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>Philadelphia</strong> suburbs, where he specialized<br />

<strong>in</strong> qualitative market research. Comb<strong>in</strong>ed<br />

with his previous degree <strong>in</strong> philosophy<br />

with an English concentration, Forouzan<br />

had a different outlook than his classmates.<br />

“I th<strong>in</strong>k my prior humanities background<br />

gave me a different perspective and thought<br />

process on approach<strong>in</strong>g bus<strong>in</strong>ess topics,”<br />

Forouzan said. “But what left an <strong>in</strong>delible<br />

mark for me was learn<strong>in</strong>g from faculty <strong>in</strong><br />

both approaches and styles <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>struct<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

I had <strong>the</strong> opportunity to learn from<br />

faculty who have worked or are work<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>dustry <strong>in</strong> various capacities.”<br />

Not surpris<strong>in</strong>gly that faculty expertise is<br />

what attracted Forouzan to <strong>U<strong>Sciences</strong></strong><br />

<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> first place.<br />

Forouzan po<strong>in</strong>ts to his MBA capstone<br />

project, titled “Milk<strong>in</strong>g a Cash Cow: The<br />

Effects <strong>of</strong> Pediatric Exclusivity as Outl<strong>in</strong>ed<br />

under <strong>the</strong> Best Pharmaceuticals for<br />

Children Act,” as his biggest accomplishment<br />

<strong>in</strong> school. It allowed him not only to<br />

work <strong>in</strong>dependently, but also to amalgamate<br />

his prior background with <strong>the</strong><br />

knowledge he had accrued throughout<br />

<strong>the</strong> MBA program.<br />

He advises current and future students to<br />

“be will<strong>in</strong>g to work on presentation skills,<br />

to be prepared, and to approach every<br />

situation with <strong>the</strong> seriousness <strong>of</strong> a<br />

workplace <strong>in</strong>teraction.”
