Plant a Billion Trees<br />

<strong>Phoenix</strong> <strong>Petroleum</strong> in partnership<br />

with Barangay 19-B and the City<br />

Government of Davao joined<br />

the Plant a Billion Trees Program<br />

on June 25 in celebration of the<br />

<strong>Phoenix</strong> Environment Month.<br />

The program was a nationwide<br />

synchronized planting activity<br />

held in different<br />

parts of the country<br />

that day. Team<br />

<strong>Phoenix</strong>, along<br />

with the Girl Scouts<br />

and Boy Scouts of<br />

Francisco Dizon<br />

Elementary School<br />

and residents of<br />

Barangay 19-B,<br />

planted a total of<br />

2,000 mangrove<br />

and mahogany<br />

seedlings at the<br />

Davao River Bank,<br />

Garcia Heights,<br />

Davao City.<br />

<strong>Phoenix</strong> <strong>Petroleum</strong> <strong>Philippines</strong> planted trees<br />

in Bunawan, Davao City on June 18, 2011 in<br />

celebration of the <strong>Phoenix</strong> Environment Month.<br />

Team <strong>Phoenix</strong> led by Chairman Domingo Uy<br />

planted 1,000 mangrove seedlings along the<br />

Bunawan coastal area. Barangay Bunawan and<br />

the Association of Fisherfolks of Davao provided<br />

the seedlings. The tree-planting is part of the<br />

Adopt a Foreshore for Mangrove Rehabilitation,<br />

Preservation and Protection partnership among<br />

<strong>Phoenix</strong>, the barangay, and the fisherfolks.<br />

Mangrove trees protect coastlines from storms and strong<br />

waves. They are also home and source of food to fish,<br />

crustaceans and other species<br />

<strong>Phoenix</strong> employees led by Corporate Affairs Manager Ben Sur gather<br />

for the Plant a Billion Trees Program, with Barangay 19-B officials and<br />

Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from Francisco Dizon Elementary School
