but smearing red currant jam on their bread, listening to the
sparrows sing and the cows moo. ”Holidays on the farm” simply means
everything real and authentic: people, nature and vacation experiences.
White as snow Winter activities in Tirol. The snowpack glistens
and sparkles in coruscating sunlight, trees, fields and house roofs
are cloaked in a brilliant white blanket of snow, a profound stillness
permeates the landscape – winter in Tirol, it is a very special season
which for atmospheric images and romantic ambiente can hardly be
beaten. For real sports freaks, on the other hand, Tirol’s icy period
means “time for action!” After all, since Tirol’s five glaciers have
more or less ignored the march of the seasons, one winter opening
follows another and snowboarders and ski freaks can finally go crazy
on the slopes living out their passion. Such magnificence! While the
ski circus provides its own brand of stimulations, cross country skiers
and winter hikers enjoy their own quiet rounds, while sledders
giggle their merry way down the joyful runs. And soon it is time for a
quiet, intimate and cosy stopover for a mug of Christmas punch and
the aroma of Lebkuchen honeycakes in the Advent season, which is
lovingly celebrated in Tirol at the Christkindl Markets and in traditional
customs.
