White as snow Winter activities in Tirol. The snowpack glistens<br />
and sparkles in coruscating sunlight, trees, fields and house roofs<br />
are cloaked in a brilliant white blanket of snow, a profound stillness<br />
permeates the landscape – winter in Tirol, it is a very special season<br />
which for atmospheric images and romantic ambiente can hardly be<br />

means “time for action!” After all, since Tirol’s five glaciers have<br />
more or less ignored the march of the seasons, one winter opening<br />
follows another and snowboarders and ski freaks can finally go crazy<br />
on the slopes living out their passion. Such magnificence! While the<br />
ski circus provides its own brand of stimulations, cross country skiers<br />
and winter hikers enjoy their own quiet rounds, while sledders<br />
giggle their merry way down the joyful runs. And soon it is time for a<br />
quiet, intimate and cosy stopover for a mug of Christmas punch and<br />
the aroma of Lebkuchen honeycakes in the Advent season, which is<br />
lovingly celebrated in Tirol at the Christkindl Markets and in traditional<br />
