System Configurator and Order Information Guide Tower and Rack UPSs from Masterguard Date of issue 28.04.2008 F Management software Supplied software CD Every UPS comes with a software package that permits direct management connection of up to 3 servers under operating systems such as WINDOWS, LINUX and SOLARIS. In addition, the package contains the high availability software, which must be licensed and enables applications such as server clustering, clustering of parallel UPS systems and UPS fleet management. High availability software always requires a LAN controller in the UPS. Created configurations can be adapted variably to productive operation with subsequent licensing (which is then chargeable). D:UPSSW-BASIS UPS management software MGUA BASIS 3-1-1-25 This license is supplied with the UPS. Only order this item if additional servers are to be connected. All the software is supplied on CD with the UPS. However, only the part specified in the license can be used (on-demand model). Other parts/functions can be enabled by license keys (subject to a fee). D:UPSSW-HA-CLUSTER UPS mgt. SW option CLUSTER 2-3-5-50 D:UPSSW-HA-ENTERPR UPS mgt. SW option ENTERPRISE 25-3-5-50 D:UPSSW-SRVGRID UPS mgt. SW option SERVER GRID 25-1-1-50 Explanation of the software license coding: [3]-1-1-25 means the software can be installed on three servers. It is able to manage a UPS cluster (3-[1]-1-25) here with one UPS (3-1-[1]-25). With the license, 25 clients (3-1-1-[25]) per UPS can be powered off via shutdown (IP shutdown). The shutdown client is the MopUPS NSA client; all others are subject to a charge. Management software order numbers D:UPSSW-BASIS License coding 3-1-1-25 Explanation of the licenses This license comes with the UPS. Up to three servers can be connected to a UPS (these servers do not work in a cluster) and are notified individually by the UPS if there is imminent danger of a power failure. The software can manage a UPS. The three servers can notify a total of up to 25 clients via LAN of the impending power failure and initiate shutdown. If a server fails or the client cannot be reached, the client learns nothing about the power failure. D:UPSSW-HA-CLUSTER 2-3-5-50 This package can be ordered optionally and addresses a dual-node cluster application. The number of cluster nodes can be increased by adding further licenses in grids of 2 (a quad-node cluster requires 2 licenses). The license can manage up to 3 groups, each with up to 5 UPS systems. The package is aimed at distributed cluster applications in which a pool of parallel UPSs with up to 5 UPSs each is intended for servers, infrastructure (data transport) and consolidated storage hardware. The servers involved can address a total of 50 clients. D:UPSSW-HA-ENTERPR 25-3-5-50 This package can be ordered optionally and is designed for power solutions with a powerful server that can be split into virtual machines (example: PRIMEPOWER). Configurations such as in the cluster version can be created for the distributed environment used by the virtual server. D:UPSSW-SRVGRID 25-1-1-50 This package can be ordered optionally and addresses completely fitted blade servers. The power quality information must be passed to many systems that are accommodated in a chassis and supplied by a UPS. The UPSs can be managed from any desired server of the blade, with the result that there is also power management when individual blades are inactive or have failed. They can only be ordered together with the UPS / battery extension, i.e. not subsequently. The customer receives a 3-year certificate for services. The service provider named on it must be informed of the existence of this service certificate.
