General<br />
The increasing activity in the development of offshore wind energy enlarged the<br />
demand for specialized vessels for construction and maintenance of the parks.<br />
Besides installation of wind turbines and their foundations, connecting the turbines to<br />
a high voltage station and deployment of the shore connection is an important<br />
aspect during construction of new parks.<br />
This cable lay vessel is especially designed for cable installation at wind turbine<br />
fields. The key design parameters are a limited draught for shallow water operations<br />
and compact dimensions for maximum maneuverability around turbines and jackets.<br />

• Compact dimensions for manoeuvrability in the field<br />

• Dynamic positioning system with two azimuth thrusters at the stern and two<br />
tunnel thrusters at the bow<br />
• Four point mooring system<br />
• Diesel-electric power generation system for optimum use of power in the varying<br />
operational conditions (sailing / cable laying)<br />
• ROV type trencher with A-frame (plough can be fitted optionally)<br />

The cable lay equipment consists of:<br />
• Tensioners<br />
• <strong>Cable</strong> lay ROV<br />
• A-frame for ROV deployment<br />
• Umbilical winch for ROV<br />
Optional<br />
The vessel can be fitted with a plough<br />
type trencher. Therefore following<br />
upgrades are required:<br />
• Upgrade of the propulsion system to<br />
a bollard pull to 150 ton<br />
