Educators Struct their Stuff
for Literacy

On March 22 and 23rd
five members of our PSRC
Family strutted their stuff to
raise money for the Dolly
Parton Imagination Library
at the 2nd Annual Dancing
with the Robeson County
Stars!!!
Superintendent Dr.
Johnny Hunt danced with
Carolyn
Dr. Johnny Hunt & Mrs.
Carolyn Watson
Watson to “Forget You”, by
Cee Lo Green. After
practicing since January,
the couple mixed a dance
skit with shagging. “I had a
great time. It is amazing
what you will do to help
children,” said Hunt.
Kewanda Meritt is the
English/Language Arts
Curriculum Supervisor.
Merritt and Leland Fuller
danced an 80’s Hip Hop
Routine to “It Takes Two”,
by Rob Base. “I thought it
was an awesome
experience and I feel very
pleased to be provided the
opportunity to meet and
work with people from
across Robeson County to
help children.
Merritt says
the best part
of the whole
event was
when the
announced
revealed the
full amount
raised by the
program.
Kristen
Stone
is the
Principal at
Peterson
Elementary
School. She and
Kristen Stone and
Pedro Massol
Pedrol Massol danced a
Latin Salsa to
“Suavemente”.
Brooke Britt and
Dr. Daniel Walters
by Elvis Crespo. “I
loved dancing and getting to
know new people; however,
the biggest part was raising
money to help
the children in
Robeson County.
I believe in Dolly
Parton's program
and feel that it is
a great benefit to
the students in
Robeson
County,” said
Stone.
Brooke Britt, an
English teacher
at Lumberton
High danced with Dr. Daniel
Walters.
Congratulations to all of
these members of the PSRC
family m for representing
the district well. Tina Bullard
and Rick Gregory raised the
top money numbers, but a
special congrats goes out to
the 2nd place fundraisers -
Gary Patrick – Assistant
Principal at Carroll Middle
School and his dance
partner, Kellie Blue
(Robeson County Finance
Director & Jonathan Blue's
wife). Together they raised
$19,816.25
The 3rd place
fundraisers were Kewanda
Meritt and her dance
partner Leland Fuller
(Owner, Lumberton Honda).
Together they raised
$14,830.00.
Overall the event raised
$169,719.25.
Dr. Johnny Hunt and
Mrs. Watson raised $7,666.
Kristen Stone and Pedro
Massol raised $5,070.
Brook Britt and Dr. Daniel
Walters raised $7,993.
