10. Round Table Discussions
The round table discussions followed
each session in order to formulate
recommendations on promoting human
rights sensitive intercultural education,
culture sensitive human rights education
and education in response to migration
issues. There were three break up groups,
each with a moderator and rapporteur
and a separate room. One hour was the
allotted time for the round table
discussion. APCEIU designated the
moderator and rapporteur. Moderators
meeting was held during dinner time on
the second day of the symposium
(October 26). Among three moderators
for each group, one was selected to
present the outcomes of group
discussions.
The three groups focused on three
sectors namely: formal education sector,
government sector and civil society. The
discussions mainly tackle clarification of
the terms, sharing of specific cases in
each country, assessment of the current
situation and recommendations for further
action on the topic concern.
Despite minor differences, most
national educational systems of the
countries were open to various cultures.
