Eric Anderson
President and CEO,
Space Adventures, Ltd
Eric Anderson co-founded Space Adventures, Ltd in 1998 with several leading
visionaries from the aerospace, adventure travel and entertainment industries. Since
founding, and having served as president and CEO of Space Adventures, Mr Anderson
has sold more than $120 million (USD) in spaceflights, including those taken by the
first and only four commercial passengers to have flown to space: Dennis Tito, Mark
Shuttleworth, Greg Olsen, and Anousheh Ansari. The fifth space tourist, Charles
Simonyi, PhD, creator of Microsoft Word and Excel, is scheduled to launch to the
International Space Station (ISS) in April. He has developed and financed over $500
million (USD) in new projects for Space Adventures, including two global spaceports and
the first private voyage around the moon, set to launch in 2011. Under Mr Anderson’s
direction, Space Adventures remains the leader of the space tourism industry through
the continuous launches of commercial passengers to the ISS, the recent offering of a
circumlunar mission and through future suborbital spaceflights.

Zeinab Badawi
‘The World’ Presenter,
BBC World
Tom Arnold is currently Chief Environmental Officer of TerraPass. Tom is a
2005 Honors MBA graduate of the Wharton School. At Wharton, he was co-chair
of the Wharton Technology Conference and a VP in the Wharton Technology Club
and Wharton Outdoor Club. He also participated in the first Wharton Leadership
Venture to Antarctica where he learned first hand the impact of global warming on
higher latitude ecosystems. Tom is a recovering technologist. Prior to Wharton, Tom
held Senior Manager positions at Redback Networks and spent two years on strategic
technology issues at Mercer Management Consulting. In addition to his professional
pursuits, Tom is also active in the community, most recently as a business advisor for
Pacific Community Ventures, a non-profit organization offering capital and services
to low-income businesses in California. Tom is also an avid outdoorsman, athlete, and
cyclist. Notable accomplishments include a solo walk across Spain (800km) and a
10:32 double century. Tom holds an AB in Economics from Dartmouth College.
Zeinab Badawi is the presenter of The World on the commercially funded
international news and information channel BBC World, and on BBC FOUR in the
UK. It’s the first daily news bulletin devoted principally to international news which is
shown in the UK, and is broadcast daily from Monday to Friday at 2000 GMT.
The half-hour programme draws on the BBC’s newsgathering operation - the largest in
the world with more bureaux and specialist correspondents than any other broadcaster.
Zeinab is also known as the former presenter of the British Channel 4 News, which
she co-presented with Jon Snow for nearly a decade between 1989 and 1998,
anchoring the show in his absence.
Having been in broadcasting for nearly twenty years, Zeinab has worked on an
extensive and impressive range of programmes. She is deeply familiar with domestic
stories - she worked at BBC Parliament on live political programmes for five years
- and feels just as natural presenting in the studio as she does reporting live from the
party conferences with no autocue.
Zeinab has also worked in radio, regularly presenting The World Tonight on BBC
Radio 4 and Newshour on BBC World Service radio. An Oxford graduate in politics
and economics, with a post-graduate degree on the Middle East from London
University, Zeinab understands the issues behind the headlines and has great
authority in front of the camera.
